If you have no experience, but have always been curious about those “really cool" rocks you find and see, you also have come to the right place.

The art of cutting and polishing stone. Lapidary has its roots in prehistory, as early humans began fashioning tools and weapons from stone. In time, these techniques were also used for items of personal adornment. Stone carving evolved as an art in many cultures throughout the world.

Here you can unlock a world of creativity and opportunity. After training, you have access to the tools, resources, and knowledge to transform raw materials into stunning, functional works of art.

In addition to our extensive selection of materials and equipment, we also offer classes and workshops for those with a desire to learn the techniques of lapidary, silversmithing and gem faceting. Our experienced instructors can guide you through a variety of topics, from basic techniques to advanced skills, helping you develop your craft and expand your knowledge. If you are passionate about creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, our shop Our shop is the place for you!
We also provide everyone opportunities to sell their creations.

At our club, we are committed to fostering a community of creative individuals who share a love for finding, manipulating and crafting beautiful, functional works of art. We invite you to explore the opportunities we offer and discover the joy of creating unique, custom pieces from stone.

We formed in 1958 to unite people with a common interest in rocks, gems, fossils and the lapidary arts. Our club educates members and the public in all things related to the earth sciences, the lapidary arts, and the collection of semi-precious/precious gems and minerals. Our annual Gem, Mineral and Jewelry show is enjoyed by thousands each year.

When open, members come to create, learn, and socialize in our complete lapidary clubhouse. Our club maintains one of the finest, full service, lapidary shops to be found anywhere.
In our comprehensive shop, you can take a 30 pound boulder and turn it into a piece of jewelry in just a few days.
Shop fees are $3 an hour when using the lapidary machines, $3 an hour in the smithing area and $5 an our in the faceting lab. These fees pay for the upkeep of our tools.
